Springing forth from the same mutant milieu/miasma/non-scene as fellow state capital punks the Shitdogs and disintegrating faster than a fourth quarter Saints lead, The Zoomers – perhaps moreso than any other punk/post-punk group from Louisiana – likely resembled their surroundings the least. Their lone 1981 single, pressed up in an edition of a few hundred, is the perfect background music to a This Is Your Brain On Drugs PSA. Sonically more akin to the UK bedroom DIY messthetic, but philosophically American fuck up. Reissued here with the beautiful space-punk picture sleeve originally hand-painted by Zoomer and most thrown out the window of a speeding car whilst joyriding on a levee.
